Industry and Technology Minister: We started a project with a flare with TOGG

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank said, “Turkey needs to adapt itself to the automotive industry in order to protect its exports of $30 billion. With the introduction of electric cars in the industry, the winds of change and transformation are blowing. We started a project with a flare in the industry with Turkey’s automobile project.”

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank stated that the winds of great transformation are blowing in the industry with the emergence of electric cars and said, “Turkey needs to adapt itself to this transforming automotive industry in order to maintain its competitiveness in the foreign market and to maintain its exports of over $30 billion.”

Minister Varank visited Kanca Forged Steel company located in Kocaeli Automotive Supply Industry Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (TOSB). While Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Buyukakin, TOSB Chairman of the Board Mehmet Dudaroglu and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Vehicles Procurement Manufacturers (TAYSAD) Albert Saydam accompanied Minister Varank during his visit, Taner Makas, the company’s deputy general manager, informed Varank about their work and future plans.

Varank, who visited the production areas and chatted with the workers, painted a drill vise here. Varank, who also examined the area where the objects collected for the Hand Tools Museum, whose installation work is still ongoing, are located, stated that this museum will also contribute to the production and cultural history of Turkey.

Making statements later on, Varank stated that TOSB is a highly qualified organized industrial zone with factories serving the automotive supply industry, and stated that Kanca Forged Steel, which started production with hand tools and produced Turkey’s first industrial cutter, is a well-established family company.

Underlining that the company produces high-quality hand tools and at the same time produces high-tech hot and cold-forged steel products for the automotive main industry, Varank said, “We have a direct export of about $40 million, besides, we are a company that provides added value by sending the majority of its production abroad with the parts supplied to the automobiles produced in Turkey.”

Stating that the automotive industry is in a great transformation, Varank said:

“WE LAUNCHED A PROJECT WITH TOGG THAT IS LIKE A FLARE IN THE TRANSFORMING INDUSTRY”

“Especially with the electric cars coming to the agenda, great winds of change and transformation are blowing in both the sub-industry and the main industry. Of course, Turkey needs to adapt itself to this transforming automotive industry in order to maintain its competitiveness in the foreign market and to maintain its exports of over $30 billion. So, with Turkey’s automobile project, we have started a project that is almost a flare in this transforming industry. Here, our companies like Kanca continue their production with the products they have produced for a long time and transform their production in a way that meets the needs of the new era in this transformation process.”

“OUR COMPETITOR IS GERMANY. WE ARE ALSO IN CONTACT WITH TOGG”

Pointing out that they have focused their R&D studies on electric motors with the conversion of vehicles to electric in the world, Kanca Forged Steel Deputy General Manager Makas said, “We continue to work to produce the rotor part, which is called the heart of the electric motor, in electric motors that will replace the crank. As we maintain our competitiveness in classic engines, we also want to be in the race here. Few companies in the world can produce this. Our opponent is Germany. We are also in contact with TOGG.”
