Turkey-Russia-Iran will meet in 2022 within the scope of Astana format

It is reported that the trilateral summit between Turkey-Russia-Iran in Astana format will be held in Tehran, the capital of Iran, in February or March 2022. “Turkey-Russia-Iran Fifth Tripartite Summit” was held on September 16, 2019 in Ankara. The sixth summit was held on 1 July 2020 by videoconference method due to the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic.

Ali Asghar Khaji, Director of Special Political Affairs at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Russia, Iran and Turkey agreed to hold a summit in Tehran as part of the Astana format.

According to the statement, the summit will be held in February or March 2022, depending on the development of the coronavirus epidemic.

In preparation for this summit, a meeting that will bring the foreign ministers together in January or February is also planned.
