Turkey continues to break records in exports to the USA, which is among its most important markets.
The bilateral trade volume between Turkey and the USA reached a record level of $28 billion last year. The US also had an all-time high 1st quarter export of approximately $3.5 billion.
Turkey added a new one to the export records it broke to this country.
According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkey realized the highest monthly export of all time to the USA with $1 billion 530 million in April. Thus, exports to the USA increased by 50.2% in April compared to the same period of the previous year.
The country’s share in Turkey’s exports was 6.6%.
While the USA is the second country to which Turkey exports the most, it was the country where Turkey increased its exports the most in terms of quantity.
Turkey’s exports to the USA increased by $511 million 713 thousand in April compared to the same period of the previous year.
Germany with $315 million 973 thousand, Spain with $236 million 701 thousand, Romania with $226 million 627 thousand, and the Netherlands with $201 million 260 thousand followed the USA in the increase in exports on the basis of quantity.
The most exporting sector was chemicals and their products
While chemicals and products were recorded as the sector that made the most exports to the USA in April, the sector made exports to this country in the amount of $225 million 278 thousand in April.
This sector was followed by the automotive industry with $187 million 991 thousand, the steel industry with $136 million 8 thousand, the jewelry industry with $103 million 287 thousand, and ready-made clothing and apparel with $100 million 598 thousand.
The sectors that show the least demand to the country are ornamental plants and products with $239 thousand, other industrial products with $567 thousand, fresh fruits and vegetables with $1 million 164 thousand, hazelnuts and products with $3 million 243 thousand, olive and olive oil sectors with $3 million 694 thousand.
The highest increase in exports took place in the chemicals and materials sector
The chemical materials and products sector took the lead in the increase in exports to the USA. The sector’s April exports increased by 202.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
This sector was followed by ship yachts and services with 188.1%, fruit and vegetable products with 147.9%, leather and leather products with 132.8%, and other industrial products with 101.2%.
Ship and yacht sector exported to the USA worth $4 million 313 thousand, fruit and vegetable products $41 million 738 thousand, leather and leather products $6 million 882 thousand.
The export of the carpet industry to the country decreased by 15.5%, and the exports of the hazelnut and its products industry decreased by 14.7%. The carpet industry sold $94 million 568 thousand to the USA in April.
