Turkey reached a record level in exports to Spain: Increased by 45.7% and reached $807.1 million

Turkey reached a record level in its exports to Spain on a monthly basis in August. Exports to Spain increased by 45.7%in August compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $807.1 million.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkey’s exports increased by 51.8% last month compared to the same period of 2020 and reached $18 billion 912 million 314 thousand.

Turkey reached a record level in its exports to Spain on a monthly basis in August. Exports to Spain increased by 45.7% in August compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching $807.1 million. Spain was also the country where Turkey increased its exports the most in terms of value in July. Last month, Spain was also recorded as the 4th country to which Turkey exports the most.

The top 3 exporting countries in August were Germany with $1 billion 453 million 959 thousand, the United Kingdom with $1 billion 160 million 893 thousand and the USA with $1 billion 127 million 870 thousand.

Spain was recorded as the 5th country in which Turkey increased its exports the most in terms of value last month. Exports to Spain increased by $253 million 99 thousand in August compared to the same period of the previous year.

The first 4 countries where Turkey increased its exports the most in terms of value last month were the USA with $460 million 556 thousand, the United Kingdom with $451 million 390 thousand, Germany with $370 million 545 thousand and Italy with $274 million 642 thousand.

The countries with the highest decrease in foreign sales on the basis of value were Saudi Arabia with $190 million 53 thousand, Marshall Islands with $51 million 267 thousand and Norway with $23 million 21 thousand.

MOST DEMAND FOR APPAREL AND CLOTHING INDUSTRY FROM SPAIN

The apparel and apparel industry made the most exports to Spain last month. Ready-to-wear and apparel industry exported $248 million 852 thousand to Spain.

Ready-to-wear and apparel industry was followed by steel with $191 million 450 thousand, automotive industry with $97 million 478 thousand, and chemicals and products sectors with $65 million 736 thousand.

The sectors that increased their exports to Spain the most in terms of value were steel with $148 million 914 thousand, ferrous and non-ferrous metals with $24 million 722 thousand, chemicals and products with $21 million 593 thousand, textile and raw materials with $16 million 815 thousand and automotive industry with $9 million 454 thousand.

ISTANBUL COMPANIES MADE THE MOST INTERNATIONAL SALES TO SPAIN

In August, exports were made to Spain from 61 provinces of Turkey.

The highest export to Spain was from Istanbul with $409 million 369 thousand. Istanbul was followed by Bursa with $100 million 508 thousand, Izmir with $61 million 223 thousand, Kocaeli with $60 million 509 thousand and Hatay with $44 million 961 thousand.

The provinces that increased their exports to Spain the most in terms of value were Istanbul with $130 million 638 thousand, Hatay with $40 million 761 thousand, Kocaeli with $23 million 244 thousand, Bursa with $8 million 819 thousand and Adana with $7 million 757 thousand.
