Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​Train departed from the capital for its first voyage.

Deputy President Fuat Oktay, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu, AK Party Deputy Chairman Binali Yildirim, BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici and Re-Welfare Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan also participated in the first expedition of the Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​Train today. The train departing from the capital will stop at Kirikkale and Yozgat stations.

Minister Karaismailoglu shared on social media regarding the expedition, “We set out by high-speed train. We are coming to meet our nation in Kirikkale, Yozgat and Sivas.”

There are 8 stations on the 405-kilometer line, namely Elmadag, Kirikkale, Yerkoy, Yozgat, Sorgun, Akdagmadeni, Yildizeli and Sivas. With the line, the distance in the Ankara-Sivas section decreased from 603 kilometers to 405 kilometers. Travel time by rail, which was 12 hours, decreased to 2 hours and to 1 hour in the Ankara-Yozgat section.

There are 49 tunnels with a length of 66 kilometers and 49 viaducts with a length of 27 kilometers on the Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​Train Line. The longest tunnel of the project was built in Akdağmadeni with 5 thousand 125 meters and the longest railway viaduct was built in Cerikli-Kirikkale with 2 thousand 220 meters.

The first domestic rail was used on the high-speed train line

The railway viaduct with the highest pillar of Turkey was built in Elmadağ with a height of 89 meters. Domestic rail was used for the first time on the high-speed train line. The first ballastless road, namely concrete road, was implemented in 138 kilometers of concrete roads and tunnels.

In addition, within the scope of the project, a local and national ice prevention and defrosting facility was built in Sivas.
