Turkey: Most exports to Russia are from Trabzon

In the first 10 months of the year, $276 million 21 thousand 832 were exported from the Black Sea Region to the Russian Federation, and there was an increase of 38% in the exports from the Black Sea region to the Russian Federation in the 10-month period.

While Trabzon, which is the province with the highest amount of exports to the Russian Federation among the Black Sea Region provinces, exported $148 million 223 thousand 900 to Russia in the January-October period, while exports increased by 27%. In Turkey, in the first 10 months of the year, exports to the Russian Federation increased by 33% and amounted to $4 billion 222 million 446 thousand 231.

EXPORTS FROM THE REGION CONTINUES TO INCREASE

Making a written statement on the subject, Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association, stated that the exports from the Black Sea Region to the Russian Federation continued to increase in the first 10 months of 2021. He stated that in the same period, the most exports from the Black Sea Region to Russia were realized in Trabzon and Trabzon alone realized 54% of the total exports. Emphasizing that the most exported products from Trabzon to the Russian Federation are fresh fruit and vegetable products, nuts and fish, Kalyoncu said that together with these products, the export of construction materials, machinery and consumer products has been improving day by day. Stating that there has been a significant increase in exports from our Rize province to Russia in recent years and that Rize has risen to the position of the 3rd province that exports the most from the region to Russia, Kalyoncu stated that Rize is the province where the most processed trout is exported from our country to the Russian Federation.

Kalyoncu stated that they are hopeful that the exports from the Black Sea region to the Russian Federation, both in terms of product variety and volume, will close the year with an increasing trend. Kalyoncu said that in order for our exports to the Russian Federation, which is our target market, to reach higher levels in the coming period, the problems in trade will be resolved and the bilateral trade will reach the targets set for each other in a short time.
