Confidence index increased in construction and service sectors in Turkiye

While the confidence index decreased by 1% in the retail trade sector in January compared to the previous month, it increased by 3.3% in the construction sector and 4% in the service sector.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the service, retail trade and construction confidence indices for January.

Accordingly, the seasonally adjusted confidence index increased by 4% to 116.8 in the service sector and to 90.9 by 3.3% in the trade sector on a monthly basis in January. In the retail trade sector, it decreased by 1% to 115.6.

In the service sector, compared to the previous month in January, the business situation increased by 6.2% in the last three months, the demand for services increased by 2.9% in the last three months, and the demand expectation for services in the next three months increased by 3%.

In the retail trade sector, while business volume-sales increased by 4.9% in the last three months, business volume-sales expectation in the next three months decreased by 5.6% and current goods stock level decreased by 2.6%.

In the construction sector, there was a 6.6% increase in the current level of registered orders received and a 0.6% increase in the expectation of the total number of employees in the next three months.
