Turkiye Two-Month Anchovy Exports Exceed $2.1 Million

Saffet Kalyoncu, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association, stated to AA correspondent that 577 tons of anchovies were exported from the country in two months.

Kalyoncu emphasized that a revenue of $2,119,836 was obtained from this export, noting that compared to the same period last year, there was a 90% increase in quantity, equivalent to 303 tons, and a 35% increase in value, reaching $1,569,373.

Highlighting that Belgium, the United States, and France were the top three countries where anchovies were exported from Turkey, Kalyoncu said, “In the first two months of the year, Turkey sold anchovies worth $524,936 to Belgium, $401,109 to the United States, and $368,287 to France.”

Kalyoncu expressed satisfaction with the diversity of countries and the increase in anchovy exports, noting that in addition to the countries mentioned, anchovies were also sold to the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Romania, Dubai, and Iraq during this period compared to the same period last year.
