$7.7 billion will be invested by 2030 to increase energy efficiency in the construction sector

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources reported that $7.7 billion will be invested in the construction sector with a focus on energy efficiency between 2024-2030.

In the post made on the Ministry’s X social media account, it was announced that the II. National Energy Efficiency Action Plan, which will be implemented until 2030, has been put into operation.

In the post, a graphic containing the targets of the construction sector and prominent investment information within the scope of the II. National Energy Efficiency Action Plan covering the years 2024-2030 was included.

According to the data in the chart, a total of $7.7 billion will be invested in the construction sector in the said period.

An investment of $3.2 billion is planned to improve the rehabilitation and energy efficiency of existing buildings and to increase the minimum energy performance criteria in new buildings.

An investment of $2.9 billion will be made to expand the use of central and regional heating and cooling systems and heat pump installation.

$700 million will be spent to improve energy efficiency and ensure energy conversion in public buildings.

Thus, 12.8 million tons of oil equivalent energy savings and 34 million tons of emission reduction will be achieved in the said period. For public buildings, savings will be doubled.
