Turkiye’s automotive exports reached $2.8 billion in September

Turkiye’s automotive industry exported products worth $2 billion 822 million in September.

According to the statement made by Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters Association (OIB), the exports of the Turkish automotive industry in September reached $2 billion 822 million 476 thousand, with an increase of 2.6% compared to the same month of the previous year.

The automotive industry, which ranks second in foreign sales after the “chemical substances and products” sector, had a share of 14.7% in exports.

In September, the largest product group “supply industry” exports were $1 billion 203 million, while “passenger cars” exports decreased by 4% and were recorded as $776 million, “motor vehicles for transporting goods” exports were recorded as $402 million, “tractors” exports as $192 million and “bus-minibus-midibus” exports as $213 million with an increase of 104%.

OIB Chairman Baran Celik, whose views were included in the statement, said, “Our exports in the January-September period this year amounted to $25 billion 620 million. We believe that we will achieve our year-end target despite the contraction in the European Union, our biggest market.”
