Turkey: Giant transformation of 1,400 residences in Tozkoparan

The works on the exemplary transformation project initiated in Tozkoparan by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, which stepped on the gas to urgently transform 1.5 million residences in Turkey and 300 thousand in Istanbul, continue at full speed. The Ministry is signing another important project in the region within the scope of urban transformation mobilization. A total of 1,461 independent units, consisting of 1,399 residences and 62 commercial units, will be built in an area of 110 thousand square meters in 4 stages, with the help of Emlak Konut GYO.

THE FOUNDATION OF THE SECOND STAGE HAS BEEN LAUNCHED

Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, delivered the houses in the first phase of the project to the beneficiaries and attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the second phase. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Kurum said, “In the first stage, we are handing over the keys of 141 houses and 3 workplaces to our beneficiaries, and we are laying the foundations of our second stage, which consists of 270 houses, 10 workplaces and social facilities on an area of 55 thousand square meters. Hopefully, we will complete these structures in a very short time and hand them over to the beneficiaries.”

3 MILLION HOUSES HAS BEEN TRANSFORMED

Stating that as the Ministry, they have carried out the transformation of 3 million residences to date, Minister Kurum said, “We have secured the lives of 12 million citizens. Currently, we are rapidly transforming our 350 thousand urban transformation and social housing with an investment of ₺120 billion in construction sites all over our country. We work in 39 districts of Istanbul. Until 2035, there will not be a single unsafe house in Istanbul.”

TRANSFORMATION CANNOT BE SUMENTED

Stating that they will transform Istanbul inch by inch, Minister Kurum said, “We will never allow the earthquake transformation of this city to be under the carpet or shelved.” Stating that those who criticize the government’s actions said that they would demolish every work built instead of presenting a better project, Minister Kurum said: “They would demolish all major investments, pour concrete on them and close them. What are you destroying! The day you wreck those investments, this nation will take you and your dark mindset; it buries it at the bottom of the rubble.”

COMPLETED IN 18 MONTHS

Indicating that the first stage deliveries of the project were completed in 18 months, Emlak Konut GYO General Manager Hakan Gedikli stated that the new stage will be completed at the same pace. Gedikli said, “New Tozkoparan, built on an area of 110 thousand square meters, offers a beautiful living space.” Gungoren Mayor Bunyamin Demir noted that Tozkoporan is the district that needs transformation the most.
