Turkey exported $503.8 million of vegetable oil in 5 months

In the January-May period, $503.8 million of vegetable oil was exported from Turkey.

According to the statement made by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, Turkey, which exported $380,6 million of vegetable oil in the January-May period last year, increased its revenue by 32% in the same period this year and managed to increase this figure to $503.8 million.

On the basis of quantity, vegetable oil exports, which were 406 thousand 475 tons in the January-May period last year, reached 368 thousand 124 tons in the same period of this year.

Mustafa Terci, President of Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, whose views were given in the statement, stated that despite the decrease in quantity, an increase was recorded in revenue.

Stating that they contributed $120 million to Turkey’s vegetable oil exports as the Union, Terci said, “The prominent countries in Turkey’s exports are Iraq with $84 million, Syria with $51 million of vegetable oil demand and Libya with $50 million. The markets we export the most from the Aegean Region are; Libya with $38 million, Yemen with $34.7 million and Tunisia with $13.7 million were listed. We expect our vegetable oil exports, which was $981 million in 2020, to reach $1 billion 250 million the end of 2021.”
