Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Yumaklı announced that between June 1, 2006, and February 29, 2024, 413,279 TARSIM policies were issued in Antalya; 1.1 billion TL of state insurance premium support was provided, and 914.7 million TL of damage compensation was paid out.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı responded to the written parliamentary question of Aykut Kaya, the İYİ Party Antalya Deputy, regarding the farmers who suffered financial losses due to floods and flash floods in Antalya on February 13.
Yumaklı stated that the damages caused by disasters were covered by TARSIM as a result of damage assessment studies for those covered by agricultural insurance, and shared the following information:
“Between June 1, 2006, and February 29, 2024, in Antalya; 413,279 TARSIM policies were issued, providing 1.1 billion TL of state insurance premium support, and 914.7 million TL of damage compensation was paid out.
Between January 1, 2024, and February 29, 2024, 10,189 TARSIM policies were issued, providing 76.7 million TL of state insurance premium support, and 19.1 million TL of damage compensation was paid out, with 46.1 million TL in the payment process.”
Yumaklı also informed that farmers who do not have agricultural insurance are eligible for compensation under the Provincial Emergency Support Payment scheme.
Furthermore, Yumaklı noted that in the districts of Antalya, there are a total of 30 flood protection and flood control construction works planned in the 2024 Investment Program to mitigate the risk of floods.
