Turkey: €1.5 billion turnover in wind energy by the end of 2022

Ibrahim Erden, President of Turkish Wind Energy Association (TUREB), stated that Turkey’s wind energy industry is the most industrialized sector compared to other renewable energy sources.

Stating that they will reach a turnover of more than €1.5 billion, 85% of which is export-oriented, by the end of 2022, Erden stated that senior representatives of industrial companies operating in wind energy such as Nordex, Vestas and Enercon want to shift their supply chains to Turkey.

Erden emphasized that the installed capacity of wind energy in Turkey has increased to 11 gigawatts, and that in addition to 6 towers and 4 blades facilities, there are many facilities producing chemicals. TUREB Vice President Arif Gunyar also said that there is a serious wind energy investment appetite in Europe. Noting that there is a serious fund for investment, Gunyar said, “There is a serious amount of money in the market around the world and everyone is looking for projects.”
