Power plant from Cengiz Energy to Uzbekistan

CENGİZ Energy has started the installation of a 220 megawatt natural gas combined cycle power plant to be built in Sirdaryo, Uzbekistan. The installation of the facility is planned to be completed in the second half of the year. Cengiz Energy will produce electricity for 25 years with the build-operate model at the facility. The natural gas cycle power plant, which aims to contribute to the energy supply of the city and the national grid, will be built on an area of 70 thousand square meters.

500 PEOPLE ARE WORKING

A total of 500 people, including Turkish engineers, work in the construction and installation of the power plant. With the said investment, Cengiz Energy will reach an installed capacity of 460 megawatts in Uzbekistan by the end of this year. Cengiz Energy Board Member Ahmet Cengiz stated that they support the renewal process of Uzbekistan’s energy infrastructure and energy production. Cengiz said, “Our investment, which we started last year in Tashkent, will become operational in a few months. We are very excited about this investment, which we started this time in Sirdaryo, after the project with an installed capacity of 240 megawatts, which we are currently working on for pre-commissioning. We are planning to commission our power plant in Sirdaryo with an installed capacity of 220 megawatts at the end of this year. Thus, our installed power in Uzbekistan will have increased to 460 megawatts. This size corresponds to the electricity consumption of approximately 230 thousand households.”
