A record was broken in Turkiye’s exports to Spain

Turkiye achieved the highest January-November export of all time to Spain with $8 billion 548 million 883 thousand.

Turkiye continues to break export records by standing out both in its region and in the rest of the world with its market diversity, geopolitical location, strong infrastructure and qualified workforce.

Turkiye, which is a strategic commercial partner especially for Europe, attracts the attention of countries that want to invest with its sustainable economic growth.

In this context, Turkiye is also increasing its exports to its main market, Spain, one of the leading countries of the European Union (EU). Turkiye and Spain, which are taking the offensive in bilateral trade, are evaluating the opportunities in the sectors in which they have a say.

According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkiye’s exports increased by 0.7% in the 11 months of the year compared to the same period of 2022, reaching $232 billion 915 million 365 thousand.

During this period, Turkiye exported $8 billion 548 million 883 thousand to Spain, reaching the highest January-November figure of all time. While exports to Spain increased by 2.5% on an annual basis, Spain’s share in Turkiye’s total exports was 3.7%.

Thus, Spain was recorded as the 8th country with the most exports. In the January-November period, the countries to which Turkiye exported the most were Germany with $16 billion 991 million 242 thousand and the USA with $11 billion 219 million 109 thousand, The United Kingdom with $10 billion 405 million 930 thousand, Italy with $10 billion 242 million 301 thousand, France with $8 billion 863 million 843 thousand, Iraq with $8 billion 741 million 718 thousand, and the Russian Federation with $8 billion 640 million 330 thousand.

The automotive industry made the most exports

The automotive industry made the most exports to Spain with $2 billion 195 million 262 thousand.

The automotive industry was followed by ready-made clothing and apparel with $2 billion 153 million 912 thousand, chemicals and products with $1 billion 209 million 700 thousand, electrical and electronics with $562 million 197 thousand, and steel with $397 million 265 thousand.

The export increase of the automotive industry was recorded as $532 million 915 thousand (32.1%). While the 520.6% increase in olive and olive oil exports attracted attention, the sector’s exports increased from $42.6 million to $264.7 million.

Istanbul’s exports to Spain exceeded $3.5 billion

When looked at on a provincial basis, companies from Istanbul made the most exports to Spain in 11 months of the year. Exports from Istanbul to Spain amounted to $3 billion 629 million 99 thousand.

During this period, exports amounted to $1 billion 25 million 533 thousand from Bursa, $951 million 250 thousand from Kocaeli, $752 million 9 thousand from Izmir, and $542 million 300 thousand from Sakarya.
