Borsa Istanbul stock market ended the day with records

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul completed the day at 9,756.69 points with a 1.43% gain, achieving the highest daily closing in history, while reaching its highest level record at 9,766.57 points.

Istanbul The BIST 100 index increased by 137.87 points compared to the previous close, with a total trading volume of 103.4 billion Turkish liras.

The banking index gained 0.84%, while the holding index gained 0.25%.

While all sector indices rose, the information technology sector had the highest gain with 6.01%.

Analysts stated that global equity markets started the week with a mixed trend after uncertainty regarding the timing and magnitude of interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) continued, with this week’s focus of investors shifting towards intense data agenda including inflation data to be announced in the US and the interest rate decision of the European Central Bank (ECB).

Analysts mentioned that due to the upcoming Eve of Ramadan (Arife) day, transactions in the stock market could be carried out until 12:40, and from a technical perspective, they noted that 9,800 is the resistance level while 9,600 and 9,500 points are in support positions for the BIST 100 index.
