Light commercial vehicles and trucks worth $3.5 billion were exported in 9 months

Turkiye’s exports of “motor vehicles for transporting goods”, which includes the light commercial vehicle-van and truck group, reached $3 billion 480 million 497 thousand in the January-September period. In the January-September period, the most exports were made to the United Kingdom, followed by Slovenia, France and Italy.

The automotive industry exported products worth $25 billion 618 million 809 thousand in the January-September period. Exports of “motor vehicles for transporting goods”, which constitute 13.6% of this figure, amounted to $3 billion 480 million 497 thousand in the January-September period, with a decrease of 6.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the January-September period, light commercial vehicles, pickup trucks and trucks were exported to 87 countries and autonomous and free zones.

Approximately 1/4 of exports were to the United Kingdom

The country to which the sector exported the most in this product group in the January-September period was the United Kingdom.

Last year, in the January-September period, $1 billion 15 million 540 thousand of “motor vehicles for transporting goods” were exported to the United Kingdom, while in the same period this year, $824 million 206 thousand were exported, with a decrease of 18%.

These exports to the United Kingdom constituted 23.68% of the total exports of light commercial vehicles, pickup trucks and trucks in the three quarters.

Exports to Slovenia, which ranks second, reached $467 million 760 thousand, an increase of 24.5% compared to the same period in 2022.

Exports of sector representatives reached $452 million 892 thousand to France, which ranked third, in the January-September period, with an increase of 33.5% compared to the same period of 2022, and to Italy, which ranked fourth, reached $447 million 363 thousand, with an increase of 6%.

$288 million worth of light commercial vehicle-truck exports to Belgium

Exports of “motor vehicles for transporting goods” to Belgium, which ranks fifth, decreased by 0.5% in the January-September period compared to the same period of the previous year, falling to $288 million 752 thousand.

Spain ranked 6th with $150 million 560 thousand, Germany ranked 7th with $100 million 146 thousand, Australia ranked 8th with $75 million 18 thousand, and Denmark ranked 9th with $70 million 731 thousand, USA ranked 10th with light commercial vehicle-pickup truck exports of $69 million 736 thousand.
