Turkiye: Exporters from Ankara started the year with a record

While the foreign sales of exporters from Ankara in January increased by 9.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, to $781.3 million, the best January figure was reached in exports.

According to the data of the Ministry of Commerce and the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly, Turkiye maintained its momentum in exports in the first month of this year as well. While the country’s exports reached $19.4 billion in January with an annual increase of 10.4%, this was recorded as the highest January export figure of all time.

Exports from Ankara increased by 9.3%

In the said period, exports from Ankara increased by 9.3% from $715 million to $781.3 million. It was seen that this export figure made by the capital was the best January data.

When the distribution of foreign sales from the capital by sectors is analyzed, it is seen that the machinery and accessories sector ranks first with an export of $124.2 million. This sector was followed by the chemical materials and products sector with $109.8 million and the automotive industry with $80 million.

The sector that increased its exports the most was leather and leather products.

In this period, the sector that increased its exports proportionally the most was leather and leather products with 1333%. This sector was followed by “olive and olive oil” with 956% and “dried fruits and products” with 225%.

In the said period, the USA ranked first in the export of Ankara exporters. About $74.6 million were exported to this country. Germany followed the USA with $67.3 million and China with $52.8 million.
