Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said that they will continue to walk determinedly in the field of energy to further the constructive bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan as two brother countries.

Bayraktar met with the Minister of Economy Mikayil Cabbarov in Azerbaijan, where he came to hold contacts.

At the meeting, in which Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) President Rovsen Necef was also present, current and future cooperation opportunities between Azerbaijan and Turkiye in economic fields, including energy, were reviewed.

In his statement to the press after the meeting, Bayraktar stated that they are in intense contact with Azerbaijan in the field of energy with the understanding of “one nation, two states”, and in this context, he held very productive meetings with Energy Minister Perviz Shahbazov and Economy Minister Cabbarov today.

Bayraktar pointed out that they want to further their work with Azerbaijan in the field of oil and natural gas. He stated that during today’s contacts, they discussed the joint contributions of the two countries to Europe’s supply security, the issue of electricity exports from Nakhchivan to Turkiye, and the preparations for the Turkiye-Azerbaijan Energy Forum, the fourth of which will be held in Turkiye this year.

Reminding that Azerbaijani oil has been transported to world markets through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan line for years, Bayraktar said, “We have been continuing an operation that is very important for the world oil supply for many years. We will continue it from now on as well. In this context, we will continue to walk determinedly in the field of energy to further our constructive bilateral cooperation as two brother countries.”
