Export figures made exporters happy

Sanliurfa Commodity Exchange Assembly President Isa Kizildemir said that the great increase in pistachio exports in the first period of the year was pleasing.

Stating that pistachios are described as “green gold” by the farmers in Sanliurfa and Gaziantep, the cities where they are grown the most, Kizildemir said, “Pistachios are a strategic product for our country. Pistachios, which have a wide range of usage, provide income to their producers, industrialists and exporters due to their economic returns. We were pleased with the export figures in the first quarter of the year, and I believe that these figures will be much higher with the new season pistachios that will be harvested towards the middle of the year.”
