Turk Telekom Technology Deputy General Manager Yusuf Kirac: “Thanks to this technology, which provides many benefits for users and operators, we have achieved the high speed and large capacity targets promised by 5G.”
Turk Telekom broke the world record by reaching speeds over 4.5 Gbps in the test it carried out with Nokia on the 5G test network.
According to the statement made by the company, Turk Telekom broke a new world record in this field by reaching speeds above 4.5 Gbps in the test it carried out on the 5G test network in cooperation with Nokia.
Thus, Turk Telekom became the first operator in Turkey to try the new 5G Radio Carrier Combining Technology with 8-carrier (8CC) supported smartphone with the ‘millimeter-wave spectrum’, which carries the 5G connection speed to the highest level.
“We will continue to lead the development of new generation technologies”
Turk Telekom Technology Deputy General Manager Yusuf Kirac, whose views were included in the statement, stated that they broke a world record with the experiment they made:
“Thanks to this technology, which provides many benefits for users and operators, we have achieved the high speed and large capacity targets promised by 5G. These technologies also act as a bridge to mature and pave the way for ‘Terahertz’ systems that provide ultra-high-speed and capacity, which are planned to be used in 6G. As the readiest operator for Turkey 5G with our strong fiber infrastructure, we are happy to conclude another important experience in this technology with a record. We will continue to lead the development of all new generation technologies in our country in the future, as we do today.”
Nokia Turkey Country General Manager Ozgur Erzincan said, “With our partnership with Turk Telekom that has been going on for more than 30 years, today we have achieved another important milestone not only for Turkey but also for the global telecom industry. This record with Nokia’s commercial 5G network equipment is testament to Nokia’s leadership in 5G and innovation.”
Turk Telekom reached the highest speed of 5G over a single phone with 8 carriers with a bandwidth of 100MHz using 5G technology, using 5G technology, at the Innovation Center in Ankara Headquarters Building.
In the trial, speeds over 4.5 Gbps were achieved with a 5G smartphone equipped with 8 carrier-supported QC SDX55 5G mmWave module, which is compatible with 3GPP Standards.
Turk Telekom, which broke the world record at 3.5 GHz, which was previously known as the middle band spectrum of 5G, this time broke the world record in this area by using only the 26 GHz millimeter wave spectrum of 5G.
