Sakarya, one of the leading provinces in Turkiye’s automotive exports, achieved exports of $4 billion 639 million 473 thousand in the 10 months of the year.
According to the compilation of data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Sakarya, which contributed 2.5% to the country’s exports in the January-October period, continues to add strength to the economy with various sectors such as automotive, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, machinery and parts, air conditioning industry, chemicals and products.
Sakarya, which exported $3 billion 947 million 913 thousand in the January-October period last year, made foreign sales of $4 billion 639 million 473 thousand with an increase of 17.5% in the same period this year.
Products were sent from the city to 152 countries and 11 free zones. The largest share in the export pie was the automotive sector with 88.2%.
The city, which hosts production facilities such as Toyota, TurkTraktor and Otokar, achieved automotive exports of $4 billion 92 million 151 thousand in 10 months. Foreign sales of the sector increased by 21.9% compared to the same period last year.
The country with the highest exports from the city in the January-October period was Poland with $639 million 908 thousand.
