The House Price Index (HPI) increased 121% in one year in Turkiye

The House Price Index (HPI) was 847.4 in April, up 4.7% month on month and 121.3% year on year.

The Housing Price Index data for the period of April 2023 has been announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

The HPI (2017=100), calculated to monitor the price changes of houses in Turkiye, adjusted for the quality effect, increased by 4.7% in April compared to the previous month and became 847.4.

While the HPI increased by 121.3% on an annual basis in April, the real increase in this period was 53.0%.

ANNUAL INCREASE IN ISTANBUL 114 PERCENT

Looking at the change in HPI for the three big cities, an increase of 4.2%, 6.2% and 5.0% was seen in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, respectively, in April compared to the previous month.

Index values increased to 114.1% in Istanbul, 126.1% in Ankara and 123.0% in Izmir compared to the same month of the previous year.
