According to the Automotive Distributors Association (ODD) data, the Turkish automobile and light commercial vehicle total market increased by 29.6% in the January-July 2021 period compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 442,550 units. In July 2021, automobile sales decreased by 47.7% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 36,311, while the light commercial vehicle market decreased by 35,8% to 11,538. In addition, the rise of hybrid and electric vehicles continues. At the end of July, 1019 electric and 28,421 hybrid cars were sold. CARS UNDER 1600cc ARE MOST PREFERRED

By the end of July 2021, automobile sales under 1600cc increased by 20.8% to 90.1%. automobile sales in the 1600-2000cc range decreased by 28.0% to 1.1%, while sales of cars over 2000cc increased by 62.2% to 0.2%.

GASOLINE CAR SALES RANK FIRST

When the automobile market is evaluated according to the engine type, the sales of Gasoline automobiles took a 65.4% share with 226,692 units, the diesel automobile sales took a 21.3% share with 74,002 units, and the autogas automobile sales took a 4.8% share with 16,502 units.

In addition, 1,019 electric and 28,421 hybrid cars were sold at the end of July.

SEDAN WAS MOST PREFERRED AGAIN

When evaluated according to body types, the most preferred body type was again Sedan cars (41.0% share, 141.991 units).

Sedan cars followed with SUVs with a 34.5% share and 119,615 sales, and H/B cars with a 22.4% share and 77,780 sales.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS THE LEADER

Automatic transmission cars took a 75.7% share with 262,311 units, while manual transmission cars took a 24.3% share with 84,325 units.

The automobile market decreased by 25.8% compared to the average 10-year July sales.

The automobile and light commercial vehicle market decreased by 25.2% compared to the average 10-year July sales.
