The statement emphasized that initiatives to increase efficiency in operations will continue throughout 2024, stating, “As part of ongoing global initiatives, Ericsson will lay off approximately 1200 people in Sweden. The company has initiated discussions with unions.”
The statement also noted that in 2024, due to a challenging mobile network market and cautious behavior from customers, further declines in order volumes are expected.
The company had previously announced at the beginning of 2023 that it would lay off 8,500 people worldwide as part of its cost reduction plan, leading to the termination of 1400 jobs in Sweden.”
