The total deposits of the banks increased and became ₺8 trillion 233.5 billion

The deposits of the banking sector were ₺8 trillion 233.5 billion, and the loan volume was ₺6 trillion 459.1 billion.

Weekly money and bank statistics were published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

Accordingly, total deposits in the banking sector (including between banks) increased by ₺80 billion 287 million 651 thousand in the week ending September 16 and rose to ₺8 trillion 233 billion 488 million 429 thousand.

In the same period, TL deposits in banks increased by 2.19% to ₺3 trillion 631 billion 355 million 893 thousand, and foreign currency (FX) deposits increased by 0.24% to ₺4 trillion 256 billion 787 million 428 thousand.

While the total FX deposits in banks amounted to $244 billion 299 million last week, $213 billion 170 million of this amount was collected in the accounts of residents. Looking at the change in total FX deposits of domestic residents, an increase of $1 billion 644 million was observed as of September 16, adjusted for the parity effect.

The amount of installment commercial loans increased

Consumer loans in deposit banks decreased by 0.05% last week to ₺899 billion 498 million 409 thousand. In the same period, commercial loans with installments increased by 0.25% to ₺789 billion 927 million 595 thousand, and the balance of credit cards increased by 0.44% to ₺485 billion 804 million 856 thousand.

Consumer loans in deposit banks consisted of ₺324 billion 283 million 227 thousand for housing, ₺21 billion 875 million 298 thousand for vehicles and ₺553 billion 339 million 884 thousand for other loans.

The total loan volume of the banking sector, including the CBRT, increased by ₺25 billion 956 million 27 thousand in the week ending September 16 and reached ₺6 trillion 459 billion 137 million 135 thousand. Total loan volume increased by 68.23% compared to the same period of the previous year.
