The top 10 selling automotive brands in the second-hand online in Turkey

In September, Volkswagen (VW) was the most preferred automotive brand in the second-hand online market. Following VW, Renault and Ford were ranked.

According to data from INDICATA the second-hand market report, 191 thousand 252 second-hand passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold online in September. 

There was a 38 percent increase in sales compared to the September 2019, and a 15 percent decrease compared to August.

The share of passenger cars in total second-hand online sales was 84 percent, and the share of light commercial vehicles was 1 percent in September.

Top 10 selling brands

In September, Volkswagen became the most preferred automotive brand with 29 thousand 594 online sales; following VW, Renault ranked second with 24 thousand 490 sales and Ford ranked third with 19 thousand 243 sales.

The other automobile brands that are sold the most are respectively as; Fiat with 17 thousand 117 sales, Opel with 11 thousand 240 sales, BMW with 10 thousand 472 sales, Hyundai with 10 thousand 107 sales, Mercedes Benz with 9 thousand 794, Peugeot with 8 thousand 399 and Toyota with 7 thousand 259.

The September sales of these brands made up 77 percent of the used online car market. The average selling speed of Turkish online market determined as 29 days in September. The fastest selling brand was Hyundai with 24 days, and the slowest selling was BMW with 33 days.

Passat does not leave the top

The top 10 most preferred brands in the second-hand online market in August maintained their position at the top of the list also in September.

VW’s Passat was the most sold model with 8,296 units. Passat was followed by Renault Clio with 6 thousand 740 units and Ford Focus with 6 thousand 378 units.

The other automobile models that are sold the most are respectively as; Renault Megane with 5 thousand 568 units, Renault Fluence with 5 thousand 270 units, Opel Astra with 5 thousand 262 units, Toyota Corolla with 4 thousand 748 units, VW Golf with 4 thousand 582 units, VW Golf with 4 thousand 343 units and BMW 3 series with 3 thousand 989 units.

Best sellers in the trade

Fiat Doblo ranked first with 3 thousand 767 sales in the light commercial vehicle category; Doblo was followed by Ford Transit / Tourneo Courier with 3 thousand 735 sales, Fiat Fiorino with 3 thousand 562 sales, Ford Transit / Tourneo Connect with 2 thousand 582 sales, VW Caddy with 2 thousand 33 sales, VW Transporter with 1906 sales, Renault Kangoo with 1258 sales, Ford Transit with 1243 sales, Peugeot Partners with 1164 sales and Citroen Berlingo with 945 sales.
