The stock market started the week with an increase of 0.84%

BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the week at 2,392.34 points with an increase of 0.84%.

The BIST 100 index rose to 2,392.34 points at the opening, gaining 20 points and 0.84% compared to the previous close.

The banking index increased by 0.70% and the holding index increased by 0.71%. Among the sector indices, the metal main industry gained the most with 1.90%, and the only loser was the securities investment partnership with 0.18%.

While the BIST 100 index decreased by 0.89% on Friday, closing at 2,372.35 points, it lost value by 1.94% on a weekly basis.

Analysts stated that concerns about inflation, growth and further tightening push investors to be cautious and said that volatility in the markets may remain on the agenda for a while.

Analysts stated that this week, the news flow from the Davos Summit will be the focus of the markets, as well as the meeting minutes of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) and the intense data agenda, and in the domestic market, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee announced that it will monitor the credit rating assessment that is expected to be made by the credit rating agency Moody’s on Friday.

Analysts noted that today, the real sector confidence index, capacity utilization rate and the CBRT’s Market Participants Survey will be followed in the domestic market, the Ifo business world confidence index in Germany and the Chicago Fed national activity index in the USA will be followed. Technically the levels of 2.350 and 2.290 in the BIST 100 index are in the position of support and 2,470 points in the resistance position.
