The number of tourists coming to Antalya exceeded 14.5 million

AKTOB President Kaan Kavaloglu said that the number of tourists coming to Antalya exceeded 14.5 million as of yesterday.

The traditional monthly meeting of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB) was held in a hotel in Kundu Tourism Center.

In the program, Kavaloglu made a presentation about Turkiye’s first international promotional work, prepared by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in the first years of the Republic, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic.

Providing information about tourism activity in the world and in Turkiye, Kavaloglu noted that Turkiye hosted 33 million 426 thousand people between January and August, and according to the hospitality data, Istanbul ranked first and Antalya ranked second.

Stating that the average overnight stay in Istanbul is 2 and in Antalya it is over 8, Kavaloglu said:

“The number of tourists coming to Antalya exceeded 14 million 500 thousand people. There is a slight slowdown in reservations due to tension. England and Germany, which made early reservations for 2024, actually started fast, but now they have stalled a bit. We are used to living with crises in this geography. We have the fortitude to face them all. Antalya hosted 11 million people in the same period of 2022, and we are almost at the same level compared to the record year 2019.”

Kavaloglu stated that Russia ranks first, Germany ranks second, and England ranks third among the countries sending the most tourists to Antalya.
