Turkiye’s energy import bill decreased by 32% in November

The amount Turkiye paid for energy imports decreased by 32% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching $5 billion 273 million 272 thousand.

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics prepared by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Commerce, Turkiye’s total imports in November decreased by 5.7% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached $28 billion 916 million.

$5 billion 273 million 272 thousand of this amount consisted of “mineral fuels, mineral oils and products obtained from their distillation, bituminous substances, mineral waxes”, which are summarized as energy imports.

In November last year, this figure was recorded as $7 billion 777 million 433 thousand. Thus, the amount of energy imports decreased by 32% on an annual basis.

Oil imports increased

On the other hand, crude oil imports increased by 12.6% in November compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 2 million 965 thousand 665 tons.
