Local startup Pooly, offering personalized carpooling experience, received investment from Amsterdam-based SBC

Offering a community-specific and personalized carpooling experience, Pooly received investment from Amsterdam-based SBC.

Pooly, which was founded by Berat Ufukcan Temel and Onur Celik in 2022 and provides artificial intelligence-based platform services for communities, completed its first investment round by receiving investment from Amsterdam-based Startupbootcamp. Financial details were not shared.

With the investment, Pooly aims to speed up its operations in universities in Turkiye and expand its team, while at the same time it plans to start operating in the USA as of the second quarter of 2024, as a result of the agreement it made with Yale. In addition, the startup will expand its global vision by participating in a comprehensive acceleration program specialized in the Mobility vertical at SBC’s headquarters in Amsterdam for the next three months.

The founding partners, who expressed their opinions after the investment, said in the statement they gave;

“In Istanbul, where 18 million journeys take place every day, we solve the transportation problems of communities, starting with university students, with our innovative and environmentalist model. In addition, we aim to bring a new breath to our users’ transportation routines by creating heat maps. We aim to grow our core team from universities such as Bogazici, Bocconi, Yale and TUM with teammates who desire to constantly read, learn and develop together.”

Pooly, which has grown rapidly after going live on all platforms with the launch attended by thousands of university students in April 2023; defines the benefit it produces by creating a community that includes universities, B-corps, sustainability-oriented associations, university clubs and individuals with high environmental awareness as shaping our future beyond solving daily transportation.
