TCDD will spend ₺2 billion on Ankara-Sivas fast train line this year

Of the ₺12 billion 556 million of the appropriation in the 2021 Investment Program of TCDD, ₺3 billion 329 million was allocated to high speed and high-speed train projects.

Turkish State Railways (TCDD) General Directorate plans to spend ₺2 billion 50 million for the Ankara-Sivas High-Speed Train (YHT) line, which is expected to be put into service this year.

According to the AA reporter’s compilation from the 2021 Investment Program, a total investment of ₺17.8 billion is expected to be made in railway transportation this year.

In this context, ₺12 billion 556 million was allocated to TCDD, ₺4.3 billion to other railway projects to be carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, and ₺950 million to TCDD Transportation S.A.

This year, ₺1 billion 279 million 63 thousand was allocated for the Ankara-Istanbul High-Speed Train project, which is included in the investment budget of TCDD.

One of Turkey’s most important ongoing high-speed train projects, the Ankara-Sivas YHT line is also expected to invest ₺2 billion 50 million this year. With the Ankara-Sivas YHT line, which is planned to be put into service this year, the travel time between the two provinces will be reduced from 12 to 2 hours.

This year, ₺1 billion 62 million 154 thousand was allocated for the purchase of 17 high-speed train sets. The remaining part of the TCDD budget will be used for works such as high-standard railways, junction lines, and level crossing improvements.

On the other hand, ₺121 million will be spent on the establishment of logistics and freight centers.
