Turkiye’s oil imports increased by 7.27%

Turkiye’s total imports of petroleum and petroleum products increased by 7.27% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 4 million 119 thousand 359 tons.

According to the “Petroleum Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority for March, imports of crude oil, which constitute the largest item in Turkiye’s total oil imports, decreased by 5.22% and amounted to 2 million 528 thousand 964 tons.

In this period, the import of diesel types increased by 48.3% and was recorded as 1 million 145 thousand 25 tons. Fuel-oil types, aviation and marine fuels made up the remaining part of the imports.

Thus, total imports increased by 7.27% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 4 million 119 thousand 359 tons.

The largest import of crude oil and petroleum products was made from Russia with 1 million 843 thousand 87 tons, followed by Iraq with 843 thousand 763 tons and Kazakhstan with 576 thousand 816 tons.

On the other hand, sales of gasoline types increased by 45.25% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 305 thousand 11 tons, while sales of diesel types increased by 10.9% to 2 million 90 thousand 238 tons.

Total petroleum products sales increased by 13.2% and were recorded as 2 million 539 thousand 42 tons.

Exports of petroleum products decreased by 3.51%

Turkiye’s aviation fuel exports increased by 96.4% in March compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 500 thousand 550 tons.

In the said period, the export of marine fuels decreased by 29.9% and amounted to 151,849 tons.

Exports of gasoline types decreased by 62.9% to 44 thousand 925 tons, while exports of diesel types decreased by 2.7% to 321 thousand 357 tons.

When other products in the oil market are added, total exports decreased by 3.51% and were calculated as 1 billion 133 million 147 thousand tons.

The production of diesel types decreased by 19.9% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 1 million 236 thousand 113 tons, the production of gasoline types decreased by 17.3% to 342 thousand 19 tons, and the production of aviation fuels increased by 47.6% to 454 thousand 504 tons.

Marine fuel production decreased by 50% to 95,864 tons. Total refinery petroleum products production with other fuel types decreased by 7.7% to 2 million 879 thousand 402 tons.
