The number of charging points in Turkiye exceeded 10 thousand 500

The number of charging points for electric vehicles across Turkiye reached 10 thousand 576 as of November 20. Thus, the number of sockets increased more than 3 times in 1 year.

According to Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) data, 147 companies are operating in the electric charging service market, where 4 companies were operating in April last year.

In this process, a wide range of licensed players, from vehicle manufacturers to fuel distribution companies, from electricity generation companies to start-ups, joined the market.

102 of the licensed companies have at least one unit registered in the system and actively operating.

There are electric charging stations in 81 provinces

According to EMRA data, 81 provinces are equipped with charging stations. While the total number of sockets providing charging services was around 2,400 in October last year, this number reached 7,581 for slow charging (AC) and 2,995 for fast charging (DC).

Thus, the number of charging points for electric vehicles across Turkiye increased to 10 thousand 576 as of November 20. Thus, the number of sockets increased more than 3 times in 1 year.

On the other hand, the number of electric vehicles across Turkiye was recorded as 51 thousand 813 at the end of September.

While there is approximately one charging point for every 5 electric vehicles in Turkiye, Turkiye ranks first among EU countries in terms of charging points per vehicle.
