Tourism Surprise: Early Bookings Boom with Polish Tourists Leading the Way

As the countdown continues for the opening of the summer season, there is a historic boom in early bookings. AKTOB President Kavaloglu said, “We are having the best early booking period in history. The surprise of the year is the Polish tourist.”

According to the news of Murathan Yildirim from Sabah newspaper, while Turkiye broke the record in the history of the Republic by hosting more than 57 million tourists last year, the average nightly expenditure per person increased to $99.

Turkish tourism, which has left behind a historic year with an annual tourism income of $54.3 billion, is preparing to raise the bar a little higher this year. Hotels and businesses, which have experienced an unprecedented density of early bookings, are looking forward to the summer season.

Kaan Kavaloglu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB), stated that the boom in early booking made all sector stakeholders happy and said, “Both our region and Turkish tourism have gained great momentum in recent years. It seems that the bar will be raised a little more this year. We are having the best early booking period in our history. There is an incredible flow of reservations from the domestic market. Our expectations are quite high. Considering today’s high demand, we expect the season to end with full occupancy.”

SURPRISE OF THE YEAR: POLISH TOURIST RESERVATIONS IN TURKIYE

Stating that the British people are the ones who make early reservations at the earliest, Kavaloglu said, “After the British, the Germans and Russians show the greatest interest. This year’s surprise country will be Poland. Last year, we hosted nearly 1 million Polish tourists. We expect the number to exceed 1 million 250 thousand this year.”
