THY Plans to Open ‘Pet Lounge’ at Istanbul Airport for Traveling Pets

Turkish Airlines (THY) Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, announced that they are working on a “Pet Lounge” at Istanbul Airport for those who meet the acceptance criteria for pets and cannot be carried in the cabin.

Sharing about the project on his social media account, THY Board of Directors and Executive Committee Chairman Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat said:

“Regardless of business or economy, our animal friends are transported in the cabin within certain rules. If your pet’s weight does not exceed 8 kilograms with its cage and the cage dimensions do not exceed 23 cm height, 30 cm width and 40 cm length, we can carry your animal in the cabin of the aircraft.

We are working on a ‘Pet Lounge’ at Istanbul Airport in order to make the most of the pre-flight time and provide suitable conditions for your pets, including our friends who meet these criteria and unfortunately cannot be transported in the cabin. We aim to complete it within this year.”
