Minister Simsek: We will continue to accumulate reserves

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek made a statement: “On September 29, gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by $3.3 billion weekly and reached $122.2 billion.”

Minister Simsek shared a post about the international reserve accumulation on his social media account.

Stating that they will continue to accumulate international reserves as much as market conditions allow, Simsek said:

“On September 29, gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by $3.3 billion weekly and reached $122.2 billion. It seems that swap transactions with gold prices were effective in this development. While the domestic swap stock decreased by $2.2 billion in the said period, the effect of the decline in gold prices was $1.1 billion. We continue our efforts to provide additional external resources to our country without slowing down. In this context, we had very productive meetings in London.”
