Turkiye: Export record from the industrial sector

Turkiye’s industrial exports reached $13 billion 674 million in January with an increase of 4.5 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching the highest January figure of all time.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkiye’s exports rose to $19 billion 375 million in January with an increase of 10.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, and started the year 2023, when the difficulties in the global economy continued, with a record.

In the said period, despite the ongoing fluctuations in global industrial production, Turkiye’s demand for industrial products continued, and the industrial sector achieved the highest January exports of all time with $13 billion 674 million.

The share of industrial exports, which increased by 4.5% in January compared to the same period of the previous year, in Turkiye’s total exports was 70.6&.

10 sectors within the industry broke export records

10 of the 16 sectors operating within the industry broke export records.

Textile and raw materials $818.8 million, leather and leather products $178.8 million, chemical materials and products $2.3 billion, ready-made clothing, automotive industry $2.7 billion, electricity and electronics $1.2 billion, machinery and parts $845.2 million, cement, glass, ceramics and earthenware products $ 361.4 million, the jewelery industry $419.9 million and apparel $1.6 billion, the air conditioning industry realized the highest January exports of all time with $525.5 million.

In January, exports increased by 0.5% in textiles and raw materials, 34.7% in leather and leather products, 7.7% in chemical materials and products, 2.2% in cement, glass, ceramics and soil products, ready-to-wear and apparel 2.7%, automotive industry 21.9%, automotive industry 21.9%, electricity and electronics 20.5%, machinery and accessories 18.8% and 14.7%in air conditioning industry.

Germany and the Russian Federation came to the fore in record-breaking sectors

Germany and the Russian Federation came to the fore as target countries in record-breaking sectors within the industry.

Leather and leather products exported $23.5 million, chemicals and products $154.8 million, machinery and accessories $94.9 million to the Russian Federation. Ready-made clothing and apparel exported to Germany for $304 million 35 thousand, the automotive industry $412.5 million, and the air conditioning industry $60 million.

Textile and raw materials exported to Italy for $78.2 million, to the UK for $112.9 million for the electrical electronics industry, to the USA for $49.9 million for cement, glass ceramics and earthenware products, to Switzerland for $89 million for the jewelery industry.
