Ahmet Fikret Kileci, Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, announced that exports to Saudi Arabia in 8 months this year exceeded $1.6 billion, a 4-fold increase compared to the same period last year.
Kileci, whose views were included in the statement made by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), stated that they used all opportunities to further this performance in the Saudi Arabian market.
A trade delegation was organized by TIM to Riyadh under the coordination of the Ministry of Commerce. The delegation, consisting of representatives of 43 companies operating in the food, ferrous-non-ferrous metals, textile and apparel, chemicals and furniture sectors, held more than 300 bilateral business meetings with 150 Saudi business people.

Kileci said:
“In July, the delegation led by our Minister of Commerce Omer Bolat held meetings with Saudi Minister of Commerce Majid Al Qasabi, Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Rural Affairs and Housing Majid Al-Hogail and Minister of Industry and Mining Bandar Alkhorayef. Additionally, our Ministry of Commerce included support for 27 international fairs held in Saudi Arabia this year.
Again, under the coordination of our Ministry, four sectoral trade delegations and three special qualified procurement delegations were held in Saudi Arabia. As a result of the coordination of our Ministry and the diligent work of TIM, our eight-month exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded $1.6 billion, a fourfold increase compared to the same period last year.
In order to carry this momentum even further, we organized another delegation to Riyadh between 11-14 September under the coordination of our Ministry of Commerce. In the meetings attended by our Export General Manager Mehmet Ali Kilickaya, we discussed with the Saudi officials how we can further increase the trade volume between the two countries and potential collaborations. “During the productive meetings, we were very happy to see new collaborations emerging between the business people of the two countries.”
Kileci emphasized that its activities in Saudi Arabia will continue unabated in the future.
Kileci stated that they will organize a purchasing delegation program in Istanbul on October 8-12, with the coordination of the Ministry of Commerce and the organization of TIM, and said, “We are waiting for all our exporters to this event where we will host a delegation of 70 people consisting of Riyadh Chamber of Commerce members.”
