The Central Bank, Monetary Policy Committee will announce the interest rate decision on Thursday, August 24. The bank had increased the policy rate to 17.5% at the previous meeting.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee will meet on Thursday, August 24, under the chairmanship of Central Bank Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan.
The interest rate decision will be announced at 14:00 on the same day. At the previous meeting, the bank had increased the policy rate by 250 basis points to 17.5%.
MPC Expectation Survey concluded
The expectations survey of the CBRT’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting resulted in the participation of 15 economists.
The median of economists’ expectations for the change in the policy rate was 250 basis points.
According to the results of the survey, economists’ policy rate expectations were between 18.50% and 20.00%, while their year-end policy rate expectations were between 20 and 30%.
The median of economists’ year-end policy rate expectations was 26.50%.
