Turkiye is the second fastest growing country in OECD and G20

Among the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and G20 countries, Turkiye was the fastest growing country in the second quarter. Slovenia took the first place with a growth of 8.3%, and Turkiye took the second place with 7.6%.

According to the information compiled from the OECD and Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data, Turkiye maintained its balanced growth performance for 5 quarters with a growth of 7.6% in the second quarter of this year as well and ranked second among the OECD and G20 countries whose data were announced.

The average growth of OECD country economies in the second quarter was calculated as 3.6%. In the said period, economic growth was recorded as 4% in the European Union and 3.9% in the Euro Area.

Turkiye was the second largest growing country

Slovenia was the OECD’s fastest growing economy with 8.3% in the second quarter. The second quarter growth rate was 7.4% in Israel, 6.9% in Portugal, 6.5% in Hungary and 6.3% in Spain, according to provisional data.

Other OECD countries with the highest growth rates in the second quarter were Chile with 5.6%, the Netherlands with 5.3%, Costa Rica with 5.3%, Canada with 4.8% and Austria with 4.7%.

On the other hand, in the second quarter, Italy grew by 4.6%, Poland by 4.5%, Denmark by 4.4% and Sweden by 4.2%.
