Increasing trade between Turkiye and Kyrgyzstan will strengthen the Central Corridor

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated that they will carry out new studies to increase the trade volume between Turkiye and Kyrgyzstan and said, “The Central Corridor will become a stronger road in the world.”

In his evaluation to the AA correspondent, Uraloglu said that they have taken steps to develop relations between Turkiye and Kyrgyzstan in the field of transportation and that the work has accelerated.

In this context, reminding that they recently met with Kyrgyzstan Minister of Transport and Communications Tilek Tekebaev and his accompanying delegation, Uraloglu emphasized that the relations between the countries in the transportation sector are multifaceted.

Stating that they will focus on work in the fields of land and railway between the two countries, Uraloglu underlined that the new steps to be taken in terms of transportation will make significant contributions to the development of relations between the two countries.

Uraloglu pointed out that they decided to liberalize bilateral and transit passages between the two countries in the field of highways and said, “This issue will become official when the signed protocol comes into force. On the other hand, we agreed to carry out the ‘E-Permit’ study with Kyrgyzstan, which envisages the issuance of transition documents electronically. We agreed to share our experience in the realization of large infrastructure projects in the private sector with our Kyrgyz brothers. We are ready to provide the requested knowledge.”

Emphasizing that they attach importance to multimodal transportation with Kyrgyzstan regarding the Central Corridor, Uraloglu said:

“In this context, the contributions of the railway line between China and Kyrgyzstan, which is at the project stage and whose total length is approximately 310 kilometers, to the railway transportation between China and Kyrgyzstan and to the Central Corridor were discussed. We will also share our country’s experience in railway management and operation with the Kyrgyz side. We will also have new efforts to increase the trade volume between Turkiye and Kyrgyzstan. With the increase in trade between Turkiye and Kyrgyzstan, the Central Corridor will become a stronger route in the world.”
