$35 million export target from Marmarabirlik

Marmara Olive Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Association aims to increase the number of countries it exports to 70 and reach an export figure of $35 million.

According to the statement made by the union, Marmarabirlik, which expands its foreign market every year, increased the number of countries it exports to 63 by adding Qatar, Palestine, Senegal and Belarus in 2023.

Marmarabirlik Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hidamet Asa, stated that they have come a long way since 2010, when exports were at the level of 4 thousand tons.

Stating that Marmarabirlik, which is the leader of the sector in the country, has shown the same success in the foreign market, Asa said:

“Marmarabirlik, which has become a sought-after brand, has reached a significant amount of exports to countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina and Uzbekistan this year compared to previous years. In 2024, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, with which we have ethnic and emotional ties, Crimea in the Russian region, Chechnya, Yakutia, Tatarstan, Dagestan and Mongolia were added to the target countries. Our primary goal is to grow in quantity by increasing our product diversity in these countries. Since the day we took office, we have turned our focus more towards sales and exports. During this period, the amount of exports in our total sales reached 25%. Founded in 1954, Marmarabirlik pioneered the development of cooperatives in our country and added value. As Marmarabirlik, our goal on our 70th anniversary is to increase the number of countries we export to from 63 to 70 and to reach an export figure of $35 million in 2024.”

Asa emphasized that the union will export $28 million in 2023.
