Turkiye Became the 3rd in Budget Transfers within COST Organization

Participating in 99% of all current actions of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Organization, Turkiye became the 3rd country to which the most budget was transferred among the 41 member countries of the organization.

According to the statement made by TUBITAK, COST operates to include the researchers of its member countries in international science and technology platforms called “COST Action”.

Turkiye is among the founding members of the 41-member COST, which makes significant contributions to scientists’ access to international project groups with the network support it offers.

Turkiye, which achieved significant success in 2023 in line with the organization’s participation statistics, continued its effectiveness in COST by participating in 99% of all actions in force. In this context, Turkiye managed to become the country with the highest number of working group members by far, with 7 thousand 96.

3rd most successful country

Turkiye became the 3rd most successful country in this field by providing 1849 individual participation in COST network activities. Last year, with approximately €2.27 million, Turkiye was recorded as the 3rd country to which the highest budget was transferred among 41 COST member countries.

Turkiye also demonstrated a successful performance in terms of gender equality and the participation of young researchers.

While a high rate of 46.8% was achieved in the participation of young researchers in COST actions, it maintained its stability in this field by achieving a participation rate of 54.4% in the participation statistics of female researchers.

Turkiye aims to maintain its position as one of the leading countries in science and technology with its active participation in COST networks.
