Turkiye: LPG imports increased by 46.13% year-on-year in May

LPG imports of Turkiye increased by 46.13% in May compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 320 thousand 670 tons.

According to the “Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority for May, the countries from which LPG imports were made by refinery and distributor license holders were Algeria, USA, Russia, Kazakhstan and Nigeria.

LPG imports increased by 46.13% in May compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 320 thousand 670 tons.

In this period, LPG exports made by refinery and distributor license holders decreased by 64.31% to 11 thousand 493 tons.

Exports were made to the Marshall Islands, Bulgaria, Jordan, Greece, Romania, Turkiye free zones and Lebanon.

LPG production decreased by 24.56% in the same period and became 74 thousand 330 tons.

The total LPG sales made by the distributor license holders in May compared to the same month of the previous year were calculated as approximately 367 thousand 35 tons.

In the month in question, autogas ranked first in sales with a market share of 80.73%. This was followed by cylinder LPG sales with 14.81% and bulk LPG sales with 4.46%.
