Multimodal Transport and Logistics Forum starts in Istanbul

Organization of Turkish States Multimodal Transport and Logistics Forum will be held in Istanbul on 13-14 September. The forum will bring together heads of railway administrations, representatives of leading transport and logistics companies, commercial organizations and relevant stakeholders.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu will attend the Organization of Turkish States Multimodal Transport and Logistics Forum, which will be held in Istanbul on 13-14 September 2023.

Minister Uraloglu stated that the main purpose of the forum is to provide a platform to encourage the development of multi-modal transportation routes and said, “The event aims to encourage cooperation and partnerships by focusing on the development of multi-modal transportation routes along the Central Corridor. It also aims to increase the efficiency, sustainability and resilience of global supply chains.”

The forum will bring together heads of railway administrations, representatives of leading transport and logistics companies, commercial organizations and relevant stakeholders in the region.

The Summit of Heads of State of Turkic Speaking Countries emerged as a forum in the conditions that emerged after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, with the participation of Turkiye and Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus, which has a language union, and Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia.

While 16 “Turkish-Speaking Countries Heads of State Summits” have been held to date, the “Nakhchivan Agreement” on the establishment of the Turkic-Speaking Countries Cooperation Council was signed at the 9th Summit held in Nakhchivan on 2-3 October 2009.
