Benchmark index gains 37 points from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 5,397.75 points, rising 0.69%, or 36.98 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Wednesday at 5,360.77 points, falling 1.26%, with a daily trading volume of 87 billion Turkish liras ($3.7 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 23.6655 as of 09.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT),the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 25.5690, while a British pound traded for 29.9125 Turkish liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $73.58 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,944.15.
