The 11-month exports of the Western Mediterranean Exporters Association, which includes Antalya, Isparta and Burdur, reached $2 billion 403 million 515 thousand 977.
Umit Mirza Cavusoglu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Western Mediterranean Exporters Association (BAIB), stated in his statement that the exports of the three provinces increased compared to last year.
Stating that they achieved $223 million 886 thousand 481 of exports in November alone, Cavusoglu stated that there was an increase of 9.5% compared to November of last year. Pointing out that the highest exports this month were in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector, Cavusoglu said:
“Another important export item of our region is, as always, marble. Our marble exports, which increased by 31.5% compared to November last year, reached the level of $30.3 million and had a significant share in our mineral metal sector, where foreign sales of $43.3 million were realized. These two sectors were followed by wood products and forest products, which reached the limit of $30 million per month.”
Stating that the highest export in November was made to China with $20.9 million, Cavusoglu stated that there was a 51.66% increase in exports to this country compared to the same period of the previous year.
Cavusoglu stated that China is followed by Russia with $20 million, Germany with $15.4 million, the USA with $14.3 million and Ukraine with $11 million.
Export to 173 countries from the Western Mediterranean
Pointing out that there has been a 3.16% increase in exports since the beginning of the year, Cavusoglu noted that the region’s exports reached $2 billion 403 million 515 thousand 977 in 11 months.
Emphasizing that fresh fruits and vegetables managed to become the locomotive sector in the 11-month period, Cavusoglu made the following evaluation:
“The fresh vegetable and fruit sector is expected to close the year with exports of approximately $850 million. Our second sector with the highest export in the 11-month period was the mining and metals sector with $447 million 708 thousand 239. The wood products and forest products sector ranked third on the list with exports of $300 million 285 thousand. This was followed by the chemical sector with $235 million 57 thousand, and the ferrous and non-ferrous metals sector with $86 million 632 thousand.”
Stating that the most exports from the region in the 11-month period were made to China, Germany and Russia, respectively, Cavusoglu stated that 2 thousand 613 companies from Antalya, Isparta and Burdur exported to 173 countries.
