$1.3 billion of exports from Samsun to 176 countries in 2022

Salih Zeki Murzioglu, Chairman of the Board of Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that $1 billion 317 million were exported from Samsun to 176 countries last year.

Murzioglu, in his written statement, stated that Samsun, which realized an export of $1 billion 272 million 514 thousand in 2021, reached $1 billion 317 million 598 thousand in exports last year.

Pointing out that Samsun exported to 176 countries and 6 free zones last year, Murzioglu said, “The five most exported countries are the Russian Federation, the Netherlands, the USA, Morocco and Peru, respectively. Samsun ranks 19th in Turkiye with its exports last year.”

Murzioglu said that the most exported products from Samsun are milling, iron and steel, motor vehicles, boilers, machinery and mechanical devices, fish and crustaceans. “We see that our province exports in 86 chapters. When we evaluate it compared to the previous year, our product variety and the number of countries increased as well as our exports. These are pleasing developments for Samsun.”

Noting that Samsun exceeded the export figure of $1 billion in 2021 for the first time in its history, Murzioglu said:

“We support and support whoever is driving a nail for the development of our country and our city. I congratulate all our businesses that contribute to the growth of our country and city by providing employment and production. We know that this city can achieve very high export figures. The most important issue here is to ensure sustainable increase. Turkiye needs more production, investment and employment. We should support production and investment more and protect the competitiveness of our industry.”
